About

On Sunday 8th June 2025, the King’s Birthday long weekend, the  second Mildura Riverfront Marathon Running Festival will be held in Mildura Victoria after a very successful 2024 event that attracted over 600 participants.

Race Director, Brian Haddy, has been co-ordinating a local fun run in his home town of Mount Barker, SA
for the past seven years. This ‘Conquer the Summit’ event has grown from 100 to over 400 participants
each year and has raised $200,000 for local youth development charities in that time.

In 2022 Brian also co-ordinated the Great Kanku Breakaways Marathon Festival in Coober Pedy and in 2023 the Mad Max Marathon Festival in Broken Hill.  Register at www.madmaxmarathon.com.au for the 2024 version of this event on Sunday 28th July.

The aim of the Mildura event is threefold – to attract runners from all over Australia to this unique tourist town on the banks of the River Murray;
  to encourage more local children and adults to get into the running ‘habit’; and to
raise awareness of the work of Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS)  that is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people, and providing the leadership and co-operative spirit to break down barriers between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
